Marty Friedman: New Tour, New Album

Marty Friedman, former guitarist for Megadeth, will be teaming up with Taiwanese superstar A-Mei for a tour of Asia and Australia. The tour is set to start in late November. A-Mei, an ever evolving pop diva, will project a bold new image through her collaboration with Friedman in an attempt to show her yet-to-be-seen aggressive side. The tour features an elaborate stage production and exact dates and more specific details are set to be released in the days to come.

Friedman made his first appearance on Fuji Television’s Hey!Hey!Hey! on November 23.

Set to follow the A-Mei tour is Friedman’s Tokyo Jukebox solo tour. The tour is currently in the planning stages. Tokyo Jukebox is scheduled for a January 2010 release in Europe via Mascot Records. Exclusive to the European version are extensive liner notes.

Friedman contributed the song “Meguriai” to Sony’s Gundam Unplugged. Also featuring Danita (Siam Shade) and Sugizo (Luna Sea, X-Japan), the album offers a rare chance to hear Friedman’s acoustic interpretation of one of the most Gundam-related songs. Sony Music Japan has announced December 9 as the official release date.
