Steve Lee, lead vocalist for Swiss hard rock band Gotthard, was tragically killed last Tuesday (October 5) after being involved in a motorcycle crash. Lee was 47 years old.
Lee had flown to the U.S. with some biker friends last weekend in order to fulfill a long-time dream of his: to spend two weeks biking through the U.S. on a Harley Davidson motorcyle.
The Swiss bikers - 21 in total - began their journey on Sunday, October 3. (Also in the group were Lee's girlfirnd, Brigitte Voss-Balzarini, and Gotthard bassist Marc Lynn.) At approximately 5:15 PM on Tuesday (October 5), nearly 50 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada, it began to rain and the group stopped on Interstate 15 to put on their rain clothing. Whilst on the slippery road, the trailer of a passing truck began to skid. The truck swerved and the trailer slammed into some of the parked motorcyles - one of which hit Lee. He was pronounced dead at the scene. (Read More)
